Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Welcome to the Amita G Outboards FAQ hub. Below you will find answers to the most common questions regarding engine selection, shipping heavy machinery, warranties, and order processing.

How do I know which shaft length I need for my boat?

To determine the correct shaft length, measure vertically from the top of your boat’s transom (where the engine mounts) down to the bottom center (keel) of the hull:

  • 15 Inches (Short Shaft): Standard for small inflatables and shallow-water skiffs.

  • 20 Inches (Long Shaft): Standard for most medium aluminum fishing boats, runabouts, and pontoons.

  • 25–30 Inches (Extra Long / Ultra Long Shaft): Designed for deep-V offshore boats, large center consoles, and sailboat mounts.

Yes, we supply factory-new 4-stroke outboard engines from leading global brands including Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, and Tohatsu. We also offer select pre-inspected used and refurbished outboards, which are clearly labeled in our catalog.

  • Portable Motors (2.5 HP – 20 HP): Typically feature integrated tiller handles, built-in or external fuel tanks, and standard propellers.

  • Mid-Range & High-Power Motors (25 HP+): Available in either tiller or remote-control configurations. Remote models may require separate rigging kits, digital gauges, or specialized propellers depending on your transom setup. Check individual product listings or contact our technical team for exact rigging inclusions.

Small portable engines are securely boxed with heavy-duty foam casing. Mid-range and large high-horsepower engines are packed in fully enclosed, reinforced steel or wooden crates to prevent damage during transit.

Large engines shipped via Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight are delivered via liftgate trucks. The carrier will contact you prior to delivery to schedule a drop-off window. You or an authorized adult must be present to inspect the crate and sign the bill of lading upon arrival. Learn more on our Shipping Information page.

Yes, we provide worldwide freight delivery. International transit insurance and export crating are included with high-value marine orders to ensure your shipment arrives safely at your port or designated terminal.

We accept major credit cards, encrypted online checkout options, and direct bank wire transfers (ACH/TT). For large commercial or multi-engine orders, bank wire transfer is the preferred secure payment method.

Orders can be modified or canceled prior to dispatch from our warehouse. Once an LTL freight shipment has been dispatched or crated, order cancellations are subject to our standard restocking and freight fee policies as detailed in our Returns Policy.

Inspect the outer crate carefully before signing the delivery driver’s receipt. If you notice structural damage to the box or crate, note “Damaged upon receipt” on the bill of lading, take clear photos, and contact us immediately so we can process an insurance claim.
